Explore the vast heritage of ancient civilizations at Museum of Vietnamese History, housing an impressive collection of artifacts from Neolithic to Cham, Khmer, and Vietnamese. Telling stories of Vietnam's past with exhibits from all periods, the museum showcases ornate robes, Hindu carvings, and stone Buddhist sculptures. The highlights in this exquisite 1929 Indochinese building include valuable relics rescued from Angkor Wat, early Neolithic tools and ceramic vases, and a mummified body of a woman who died in 1869. A model Stone Age village, plus colonial era and revolutionary-period armorials testify to Vietnam's tumultuous and complex past. For travelers who use our international travel planner, Ho Chi Minh City holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Museum of Vietnamese History and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

Superb. I didn't expect very much and could not have been more pleasantly surprised. An excellent size - not too big and not too small. Excellent English descriptions with many having QR codes for...

This is a review about both the museum and the lovely Tea Shop in its courtyard. The museum is a must see for anyone interested in the ancient cultures of Vietnam. As to the tea shop, it is the brainchild of a Saigon native French educated economist, Dan Tranh. As I expressed interest in Jasmin tea, he invited me to have some with him, from jasmine flowers harvested by him from his own garden. We chatted about his time in France, his numerous trips in Vietnam 🇻🇳 to the various tea growing regions, where artisanal methods are still used. His knowledge of tea making is vast and precise. His shop is lovely, and very inviting. It is encounters like this that make traveling such a rewarding experience! Highly recommended!

Very good museum for historical artifacts and records. It looks a little run down but overall it is good. Don’t forget to drop by the puppet show on water. Highly recommended for tourists
