Trentham Monkey Forest, Stoke-on-Trent

Good sized monkey park however, it was £55 for 5 of us (4 adults 1 child) and personally I don't think it's worth the entry fee. It's slightly cheaper if you book online in advance. Parking is free and there are plenty of spaces. It's nice to see the monkeys especially the little babies however, we had walked round the entire park within 45 mins. I think it is aimed more at families with younger children as it has a good sized play park and activity centre.

Will you see monkeys? Yes. However there are only certain area's where the monkeys congregate. You find that you are waiting for the feeding times when the monkeys are called by the handlers. The feeding times are throughout the day at different times, so I guess the other monkeys may not have been very hungry when called because out of 140 monkeys there were approx. 7-8 that came to the call. At various other areas there were also monkeys. They do walk across the paths however I only saw this happening when the call went out at feeding time. The overall walk through the monkey forest area probably takes 1.5 - 2 hours max. There are two kids play areas, 1 for older children and the other for younger kids. The on site restaurant is quiet expensive, therefore I would suggest that you take food and drink with you. Attached is a picture of the menu and prices. I think it is the place that you only visit once. I don't think I will be visiting again soon. Overall though it does keep kids busy for the day. Lastly parking is free which is good. If you have a picnic you can take you bag with you and before you enter the monkey enclosure you leave the bag with the attendants and they will give you a ticket. Alternatively you can leave your food/drink in the car and get your hand stamped at the entrance to allow you re-entry.
