Roam through Winterbourne House and Garden, an Edwardian property heavily influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement. On the ground floor of the house, learn about its previous occupants and their importance in the community through interactive exhibits. Climb the stairs and see how the inhabitants would have lived in the period-furnished rooms. Outside, amble through the 3 hectare (6 acre) botanical garden, home to over 6,000 plant species from around the world. The souvenir shop stocks a range of locally produced items, such as pottery and Winterbourne-grown produce. There is also a secondhand bookshop on site. Visit the terrace tearoom for tea, cakes, and meals. You are also welcome to bring a picnic with you. Take the guesswork out of planning a Birmingham vacation by using our trip itinerary maker.

  • We love it here. The house is peaceful and has a great energy. The gardens are so lovely and varied with such a variety of species and colours. The food in the cafe is great and there are a good selection of gluten free cakes. The coffee was delicious and dairy free milks were available.
  • I always enjoy visiting this place. The garden is a wonderful place to explore. It varies from a beautiful walled garden to a woodland walk with views of Edgbaston Reservoir. The house is also an interesting place to visit. The rooms are displayed very well and shows the history of the house Also worthwhile to look at the printing press room where demonstrations are given on some days. The gift shop sells good quality items and the cafĂ© has a selection of light meals available.
