Situated in a basin between two mountain ranges, Taipei appeals to tourists with its blend of Asian cultures, living side by side amidst Japanese-era mansions and Taoist temples.When in Taipei, make a side trip to see Chiufen (Jiufen Old Street) in Ruifang, approximately Ruifang away. Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to Taipei is an approximately 6.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of train, bus, and ferry. You'll lose 1 hour traveling from Ho Chi Minh City to Taipei due to the time zone difference. In November, Taipei is slightly colder than Ho Chi Minh City - with highs of 29°C and lows of 22°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 6th (Mon) to allow enough time to take a train to Taichung.

Known for its good weather, Taichung boasts an interesting set of cultural attractions, including many temples showing the development of religious architectural styles in the area and forming focal points for most tours of Taichung.Start off your visit on the 7th (Tue): get curious at National Museum of Natural Science, then identify plant and animal life at Gaomei Wetland, then make a trip to Niumatou Yizhi Wenhua Yuanqu, and finally make a trip to Tunghai University. Keep things going the next day: admire the masterpieces at National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, wander the streets of Rainbow Village Taichung, then examine the collection at 921 Earthquake Museum of Taiwan, and finally pause for some serene contemplation at Taichung Baptist Church.

You can take a train from Taipei to Taichung in 1.5 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a bus. In November, daytime highs in Taichung are 30°C, while nighttime lows are 20°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 8th (Wed) early enough to take a train to Kaohsiung.

A small trading town in the 17th century, Kaohsiung now stands as a sprawling metropolis, its harbor representing the largest on the island.Get out of town with these interesting Kaohsiung side-trips: Beauty Cave (in Liuqiu), Chimei Museum (in Rende) and West Central District (Chihkan Tower (Fort Provintia) & Hayashi Department Store).
