Fuerteventura can be loosely translated as either "Strong Winds" or "Great Adventure," and both translations usually become applicable at some point during a trip here. One of the larger Canary Islands, Fuerteventura is a popular windsurfing and kitesurfing destination, boasting a long coastline of unspoiled white beaches washed by the crystalline waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
