Called "Oporto" by many, the city of Porto along the Duoro River lent the country and Port wine their names.
Start off your visit on the 2nd (Sun): contemplate the long history of Mosteiro da Serra do Pilar, don't miss a visit to Estátua Equestre de Dom Pedro IV, get to know the fascinating history of Rua das Flores, then examine the collection at MMIPO - Museu da Misericordia do Porto, then see the interesting displays at Centro Portugues de Fotografia, and finally pause for some serene contemplation at Igreja dos Carmelitas.
