Ponta Delgada — 6 nights

As the busy capital of São Miguel, Ponta Delgada represents the most visited place on the island. Known for its historical buildings, the city offers 17th- and 18th-century convents and churches, as well as cobbled pedestrian streets and hidden squares.
Step out of the city life by going to Caldeira das Sete Cidades and Poca Da Dona Beija. Do some cultural sightseeing at Igreja do Santo Cristo and Igreja de Sao Jose. Explore Ponta Delgada's surroundings by going to Piscinas Naturais (in Mosteiros), Islet of Vila Franca do Campo (in Vila Franca do Campo) and Furnas (Caldeiras Vulcânicas, Centro de Monitorizacao e Investigacao das Furnas, &more). The adventure continues: take a tour by water with Azores Whale Watching TERRA AZUL, indulge in some personalized pampering at AlmondTree Therapies, get curious at Priolo Environmental Center, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Nossa Senhora da Paz.

Green Island
Known as The Green Island, Sao Miguel is the largest of the nine islands of Azores and is considered a natural paradise. These islands were discovered in the 15th century and, according to myth, are reputed to be part of the lost empire of Atlantis. Sao Miguel's most prominent feature is a set of twin lakes, one of which is blue and the other green. Visitors also enjoy the island's park, golf courses, beaches, mountains, marina, and ocean views. Stop for a look at the city's monuments and architecture, and experience the cobbled streets lined with a variety of restaurants, shops, bars, and cafes.
