Porto — 4 nights

Unvanquished City
Called "Oporto" by many, the city of Porto along the Duoro River lent the country and Port wine their names. Portugal's second-largest metropolis dates back to the 4th century, representing both a rich cultural past and industrial present through its architecture and style.Explore Porto's surroundings by going to Coimbra (Jardim Botanico, Igreja e Mosteiro da Santa Cruz, &more). Dedicate the 16th (Sat) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. There's lots more to do: take in the views from Ponte de Dom Luis I, take a stroll around Palacio da Bolsa, take in the local highlights with Walking tours, and contemplate the waterfront views at Douro River.
To find more things to do, maps, photos, and tourist information, go to the Porto trip maker.
If you are flying in from Spain, the closest major aiport is Francisco de Sá Carneiro Airport. In July, plan for daily highs up to 28°C, and evening lows to 17°C.
