Punakha — 3 nights

The imperial past feels present in Punakha, where an impressive fortress testifies to the heyday of this former capital of Bhutan.
Change things up with a short trip to Wangdue Dzong in Wangdue (about 40 minutes away). There's lots more to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Punakha Dzong, take in the views from Punakha Suspension Bridge, and don't miss a visit to Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup nunnery.

Ahmedabad, India to Punakha is an approximately 9-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus, taxi, and car; or do a combination of train, taxi, bus, and car. The time zone changes from India Standard Time to Bhutan Time, which is usually a 0.5 hour difference. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Tue) to allow time to travel to Phobjikha Valley.

Trashigang, or Tashigang, is a town in eastern Bhutan and the district capital of the Trashigang Dzongkhag .The town lies to the east side of the valley above the Drangme Chhu river just south of where it is joined by the Gamri River.
