Thimphu — 3 nights

The kingdom's capital and most modern city, Thimphu offers a mix of ancient traditions and modern commercialism.
Thimphu is known for sightseeing, scenic drive, and parks. Your trip includes some of its best attractions: cruise along Dochula Pass, make a trip to Changangkha Lhakhang, pause for some photo ops at Kuenselphodrang, and ponder the world of politics at Tashichho Dzong (Thimpu Dzong).

Mumbai, India to Thimphu is an approximately 9-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and taxi; or do a combination of train, bus, and car. Traveling from Mumbai to Thimphu, you'll lose 0.5 hours due to the time zone difference. Plan for colder temperatures traveling from Mumbai in April, with highs in Thimphu at 24°C and lows at 9°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 4th (Mon) early enough to go by car to Punakha.

Punakha — 2 nights

The imperial past feels present in Punakha, where an impressive fortress testifies to the heyday of this former capital of Bhutan.
On the 5th (Tue), contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Chimi Lhakhang Temple, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Punakha Dzong, and then take in the views from Punakha Suspension Bridge. On the next day, make a trip to Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup nunnery and then don't miss a visit to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten.

Traveling by car from Thimphu to Punakha takes 2.5 hours. Cap off your sightseeing on the 6th (Wed) early enough to go by car to Bumthang.

Getting from Punakha to Bumthang by car takes about 7 hours. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 7th (Thu) so you can travel to Jakar.

Jakar — 1 night

Jakar is a town in the central-eastern region of Bhutan. On the 8th (Fri), see the interesting displays at Ogyen Choling Palace Museum, then don't miss a visit to Wangduechhoeling Palace, and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Jambay Lhakhang Temple.

You can drive from Jakar to Trongsa in 2.5 hours. Cap off your sightseeing on the 9th (Sat) early enough to go by car to Paro.

A charming historic town with many sacred sites cradled in a verdant valley, Paro offers a scenic base to explore the important Buddhist attractions and pristine nature around it.
On the 10th (Sun), contemplate the long history of Rinpung Dzong, then examine the collection at National Museum, and then contemplate the long history of Paro Taktsang. Here are some ideas for day two: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kyichu Lhakhang, then steep yourself in history at Drukgyel Dzong, and then take a memorable drive along Chele La Pass.

Getting from Trongsa to Paro by car takes about 6.5 hours. April in Paro sees daily highs of 24°C and lows of 9°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 11th (Mon) so you can go by car to Ha.

Ha or Has is a town and seat of Haa District in Bhutan.Ha is situated in the west of the Sandalwood Kingdom near Sikkim in the Ha Valley. On the 12th (Tue), contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Lhakhang Karpo and then appreciate the views at Haa Valley.

Drive from Paro to Ha in 2.5 hours. You will leave for Phuentsholing on the 13th (Wed).

Surrounded by towering mountains and traversed by two meandering rivers, Gangtey is one of the most pristine tourist sites in Bhutan, set in a wide, flat glacial valley.
Kick off your visit on the 16th (Sat): explore the landscape on two wheels at Pele La and then admire the verdant scenery at Phobjikha Valley. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Gangtey Monastery.
