Get out of town with these interesting Reykjavik side-trips: Hvalsneskirkja (in Sandgerdi), Gunnuhver Hot Springs (in Grindavik) and The Cave People (in Laugarvatn). Step off the beaten path and head to Fjadrargljufur Canyon and Sólheimajökulll. Svinafell — 2 nights

Kick off your visit on the 16th (Thu): contemplate the waterfront views at Fjallsarlon Iceberg Lagoon, then kick back and relax at Fellsfjara, and then take in the dramatic natural features at Svinafell Glacier. On your second day here, don't miss a visit to Svinafellsjokull Glacier and then admire the sheer force of Svartifoss Waterfall.

Grundarfjorour — 3 nights

Kick off your visit on the 18th (Sat): take in the dramatic scenery at Kirkjufellsfoss and then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Kirkjufell Mountain.
