Innsbruck — 5 nights

Nestled in a valley between snowcapped peaks, Innsbruck evokes visions of a winter wonderland.
Take a break from the city and head to Stubaier Gletscher and Rosengartenschlucht. Kids will enjoy Altstadt von Innsbruck and The Golden Roof (Goldenes Dachl). Get out of town with these interesting Innsbruck side-trips: Aqua Dome - Tirol Therme Laengenfeld (in Langenfeld), Leutascher Geisterklamm (in Leutasch) and Greifvogelpark (in Umhausen). Kitzbühel is a small medieval town situated along the river Kitzbuhler Ache in Tyrol, Austria and the administrative centre of the Kitzbühel district. Kufstein Fortress and Pfarramt Soll will appeal to history buffs. Escape the urban bustle at Natural High Adventure Tours Ltd and Alpinolino Westendorf. Explore Kitzbuhel's surroundings by going to Hexenwasser (in Soll), Quellfisch Fischteich Schwendt (in Schwendt) and Filzalmsee (in Brixen im Thale). Lienz — 4 nights

Lienz is a medieval town in the Austrian state of Tyrol. Attractions like Loacker Cafe Heinfels and Hauptplatz Lienz make great kid-friendly stops. Get outdoors at Wildpark Assling and Vitalpinum. Step out of Lienz with an excursion to Kalser Glocknerstrasse in Kals am Grossglockner--about 30 minutes away. Spend the 26th (Fri) surrounded by wildlife at Gletscherweg Innergschloss. There's still lots to do: take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Grossglockner, find something for the whole family at Wichtelpark, and don't miss a visit to Nationalparkhaus Matrei.
