Go for a jaunt from Granada to Nerja to see Playa de la Cala el Canuelo about 1h 5 min away. There's lots more to do: step into the grandiose world of Alhambra, admire the natural beauty at Carmen de los Martires, contemplate the long history of Mirador de San Nicolas, and pause for some serene contemplation at Basilica de San Juan de Dios.

As the busy capital of São Miguel, Ponta Delgada represents the most visited place on the island.
When in Ponta Delgada, make a side trip to see Parque Terra Nostra in Furnas, approximately Furnas away. Next up on the itinerary: take in the dramatic natural features at Caldeira das Sete Cidades, get up close to creatures of the deep with a dolphin and whale watching tour, make a trip to Portas da Cidade, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Igreja de Sao Jose.
