Sofia, Bulgaria to Yerevan is an approximately 8-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and car. The time zone changes from Eastern European Standard Time (EET) to Armenia Standard Time (AMT), which is usually a 2 hour difference. Traveling from Sofia in September, expect nights in Yerevan to be about the same, around 16°C, while days are a bit warmer, around 34°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 12th (Tue) to allow enough time to drive to Areni.

Getting from Yerevan to Areni by car takes about 2 hours. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 14th (Thu) to allow time to travel to Tatev.
