Herceg-Novi — 2 nights

Herceg-Novi welcomes visitors into the Bay of Kotor and spreads before them an array of attractions kissed by almost permanent sunshine.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Savina Monastery and Promenade Pet Danica. There's still lots to do: paddle through the water with a kayaking and canoeing tour, walk around Savinska Dubrava Park, pause for some photo ops at Monument to The King Tvrtko I, and don't miss a visit to Tito's Villa Galeb.

You can drive from Ulcinj to Herceg-Novi in 3 hours. Another option is to take a bus. Traveling from Ulcinj in May, plan for slightly colder nights in Herceg-Novi, with lows around 13°C. On the 24th (Wed), you're off to Budva.

Montenegro's top tourist destination, Budva draws big crowds with its pulsating nightlife and sun-kissed beaches.
Explore hidden gems such as Podmaine Monastery and Saint Ivan Church. Step out of Budva with an excursion to King Nicholas Museum in Cetinje--about 38 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: make a trip to Rustovo Monastery, steep yourself in history at Citadel, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of the Holy Trinity.

Kotor — 3 nights

Bride of the Adriatic Sea

Perched on the edge of a fjord-like bay rimmed by rugged mountains, Kotor grew around a medieval settlement purposely built like a maze.
Start off your visit on the 29th (Mon): take an in-depth tour of Perast Museum, explore the historical opulence of Grubonja Palace, and then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of Blažena Ozana. Keep things going the next day: step into the grandiose world of Zmajević Palace and then admire the striking features of Radoničić Milošević Palace.

Kotor is just a stone's throw from Budva. May in Kotor sees daily highs of 27°C and lows of 13°C at night. On the 31st (Wed), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can fly back home.
