Traveling from Newark in July, plan for a bit cooler nights in Lisbon, with lows around 63°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Sat) so you can catch the flight to Porto.

Traveling by flight from Lisbon to Porto takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a train. Traveling from Lisbon in August, things will get a bit cooler in Porto: highs are around 76°F and lows about 58°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 6th (Tue) so you can catch the flight to Ponta Delgada.

Relax by the water at Mosteiros Beach and Praia de Santa Barbara. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Nossa Senhora da Paz and Igreja do Santo Cristo. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Ponta Delgada: Piscinas Naturais (in Mosteiros) and Sete Cidades (Igreja de Sao Nicolau & Miradouro da Boca do Inferno). There's still lots to do: take in the dramatic natural features at Caldeira das Sete Cidades, tour the pleasant surroundings at Caldeira Velha Environmental Interpretation Centre, get up close to creatures of the deep with a dolphin and whale watching tour, and discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour.
