Reykjavik, the world's most northerly capital, effortlessly combines small-town charm with heaps of big city energy.
Explore Reykjavik's surroundings by going to Thingvellir (Thingvellir National Park & Galgaklettur), Blue Lagoon (in Grindavik) and Svartsengi Geothermal Power Plant (in Svartsengi). Spend the 5th (Sun) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. There's much more to do: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Hallgrimskirkja, get engrossed in the history at Landnámssýningin/The Settlement Exhibition, let your taste buds guide you at a local gastronomic tour, and make a trip to Laugavegur.
