Ponta Delgada — 9 nights

As the busy capital of São Miguel, Ponta Delgada represents the most visited place on the island.
Step out of the city life by going to Caldeira das Sete Cidades and Lagoa do Fogo. Visit Nossa Senhora da Paz and Igreja de Sao Jose for their historical value. Venture out of the city with trips to Vila Franca do Campo (Islet of Vila Franca do Campo & Praia Da Amora) and Furnas (Parque Terra Nostra, Furnas, &more). The adventure continues: shake up your sightseeing with a climbing tour, tour the pleasant surroundings at Pico da Vara, see majestic marine mammals with a dolphin and whale watching tour, and see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour.

Green Island
Known as The Green Island, Sao Miguel is the largest of the nine islands of Azores and is considered a natural paradise. These islands were discovered in the 15th century and, according to myth, are reputed to be part of the lost empire of Atlantis. Sao Miguel's most prominent feature is a set of twin lakes, one of which is blue and the other green. Visitors also enjoy the island's park, golf courses, beaches, mountains, marina, and ocean views. Stop for a look at the city's monuments and architecture, and experience the cobbled streets lined with a variety of restaurants, shops, bars, and cafes.
