Jewel of the Algarve

The allure of the beaches and the town's historical center draw visitors to Lagos, a coastal destination in the Barlavento region of the Algarve.
Step off the beaten path and head to Ponta da Piedade and Praia Dona Ana. Change things up with these side-trips from Lagos: Praia da Marinha (in Caramujeira), Praia da Falesia (in Olhos de Agua) and Camera Obscura - Tavira EYE (in Tavira). Built on seven hills, Lisbon has experienced a renaissance in recent years, making it the cultural star of Portugal.
On the 26th (Tue), wander the streets of Alfama, then contemplate the long history of Castelo de S. Jorge, then make a trip to Elevador de Santa Justa, and finally make a trip to Praca do Comercio (Terreiro do Paco).
