One of Europe's most relaxed and newest capital cities, Podgorica sits on the confluence of two rivers, with two sides of it offering two different options for exploring.

Brussels, Belgium to Podgorica is an approximately 5.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of car and train. On the 16th (Sat), you'll have the morning to explore before heading off to Žabljak.

Žabljak — 2 nights

A trip to Zabljak takes you to the north of the country, a mountainous region that's as steeped in great scenery and views as it is in history and culture.

Drive from Podgorica to Žabljak in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. You will leave for Herceg-Novi on the 18th (Mon).

Herceg-Novi — 2 nights

Herceg-Novi welcomes visitors into the Bay of Kotor and spreads before them an array of attractions kissed by almost permanent sunshine.
Keep things going the next day: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at St. Nikola Church, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Our Lady of the Rocks, and then head off the coast to Island of Saint George.

Traveling by car from Žabljak to Herceg-Novi takes 3 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In July in Herceg-Novi, expect temperatures between 38°C during the day and 20°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 20th (Wed) to allow enough time to drive to Budva.

Your day by day itinerary now includes Flea Market. Change things up with these side-trips from Budva: Boat Tours & Water Sports (in Virpazar), Kotor (Kotor Old City, St. Tryphon Cathedral, &more) and Our Lady of Health (in Špiljari). There's still lots to do: contemplate the long history of Budva Old Town, stroll through Jaz Beach, pause for some photo ops at Ballet Dancer Statue, and enjoy the sand and surf at Mogren Beach.
