As the busy capital of São Miguel, Ponta Delgada represents the most visited place on the island.
Take a break from the city and head to Caldeira das Sete Cidades and Dolphin & Whale Watching. Museum-lovers will get to explore Oficina - Museu and Centro de Monitorizacao e Investigacao das Furnas. Step out of Ponta Delgada to go to Furnas and see Furnas, which is approximately 40 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: explore the activities along Lagoa do Fogo, get great views at Plantacoes de Cha Gorreana, stroll through Caldeira Velha Environmental Interpretation Centre, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Nossa Senhora da Paz.
