The Royal Concertgebouw (Dutch: Koninklijk Concertgebouw, pronounced [ˌkoːnɪŋkləkɔnˈsɛrtxəbʌu]) is a concert hall in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The Dutch term "concertgebouw" translates into English as "concert building". Its superb acoustics place it among the finest concert halls in the world, along with Boston's Symphony Hall and the Musikverein in Vienna.
In celebration of the building's 125th anniversary, Queen Beatrix bestowed the royal title "Koninklijk" upon the building on 11 April 2013, as she had on the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra upon its 100th in 1988.

  • What a fantastic hall and orchestra! Tonight we heard Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D and Prokofiev's Symphony No 5. We had interesting seats up front behind the orchestra members where we could watch the conductor's face. Sound was great and the view was fun!
  • We went there to attend a classical concert to fund raise families affected by the Ukrainian war. We'd bought our tickets in advance online (highly recommended) and turned up 30 minutes prior to the show. As expected, it was packed and we had to wait 15-20 minutes to get to our seats. The queue itself was confusing (we couldn't figure out where it ended so we could also join it), the signage wasn't easily readable so we asked the staff for help and they very quickly solved our problem. The concert hall itself is beautiful and acoustics really good. Even though we were sitting at one of the last rows, we could hear notes very clearly and enjoy the performance. Overall, really good venue, I'd recommend.
