Create an itinerary including Wat Suthat
Take in the beautiful architecture of Wat Suthat. Angular marble pillars support colorful roofs with high gables, ornately decorated in the typical Bangkok style. Marble flagstones reflect the sky, and Buddha statues adorn the walls. Wander the tranquil grounds and see the 28 Chinese pagodas, representing the 28 Buddhas born on this earth. In front of the temple, admire the 30 m (98 ft) tall Giant Swing, formerly used in an old Brahmin ceremony. A royal temple of the first grade, it's construction began in 1807, at the behest of King Rama I, but it would not be completed until 1847, during the reign of King Rama III. • Wat Suthat is one of the best temples I have seen in Thailand. It's stunning and definitely built to remain for centuries to come because it was built with tender loving and caring. I highly recommend it to everyone to visit when they have a chance.
  • This is located in the Old Town area. I enjoyed walking this temple. Was not too crowded when I was there, so totally enjoyable.
