View over 7,000 exhibits ranging from ancient Egypt to modern times at Musee D'Art Et D'Histoire, the largest art museum in the city. The museum's fine art section features Italian, Dutch, French, English, and Swiss paintings dating back to the Middle Ages and up to the 20th century, created by famous painters such as Rembrandt and Monet. Walk through the applied art section for a look at weapons, silverware, and textiles, and the archeology section, displaying a real mummy from the 9th century BCE. Grab the visitor guide brochure on your way in, which provides information about the collection's ten must-see masterpieces. Be sure to get a glimpse of "The Miraculous Draught of Fishes" by Konrad Witz, the museum's most famous painting. This is a nice art gallery that is worth finding out the route to. Be prepared for walking as it is large and over a number of floors. There is a Henry Moore sculpture in the park outside.

It is free to enter this museum. It is one of the best Museums we have visited. Huge in terms of space and collection displayed. Paintings are stunning and art pieces are gorgeous. Staff is friendly. The restaurant is good too with limited vegetarian options but nice. Will recommend all tourists to definitely visit this place.

The museum has a "pay as much as you like" policy which is really nice to make it affordable for all people while still finding a way to maintain the museum! The collection is big and offers a wide variety of artists and epochs of art history. Besides the collection of paintings, there's also an archaeological exhibition and one about time. Be prepared that these two exhibitions only have description in French, but there's free WiFi so you could easily translate the texts. A nice add on were also the free menstrual products in the bathrooms 😊👍🏻
