Create an itinerary including Cathedrale de Saint-Pierre
For panoramic views over the city and its lake, climb the northern tower of Cathedrale de Saint-Pierre. Known mostly as the adopted home church of John Calvin (one of the leaders of the Protestant Reformation), the cathedral dates back to the 12th century, its architecture an eclectic mix of styles. The archaeological site beneath the cathedral, excavated over the last few years, reveals the city's rich history and explores the origins of Christianity in this part of Europe. Take the underground passage connecting the cathedral to the adjacent museum, dedicated to presenting the historical significance of the Reformation. Audio guides are available in English, German, and French. If you'd prefer a guided tour, check the website, where you'll also find information about upcoming live organ performances. • This is a nice cathedral. Well worth a visit. Plan a circular trip to see the cathedral whilst visiting other key city sites.

  • Gothic arches, flying buttresses, baroque façades and silent stones. Come and linger in this space and allow the whispers in the air of centuries of reverence and worship surround you. Must dos: climb the tower for unbeatable views over Geneva's old Town. Must do two: check out the archeology museum under the cathedral, step back in time to 1000s of years worth of I habitation of this idyllic location.
  • We visited this 850+ year old cathedral which is impressive. We climbed St Peter’s Tower and had spectacular view of Geneva. It was an adventure since we climbed the first tower and walked across the other tower. It was awesome to be outdoor (not only see through windows) and view Geneva at different angles. It is super windy when we went.
