Founded in the 13th century, this quarter makes up the original settlement of Stockholm and is home to notable architecture, mainly from the 18th and 19th centuries. You can tour the royal castle on the north side of the district, which was built in 1754 by architect Nicodemus Tessin. Really a nice place to walk around in the city, old narrow streets, some good and nice restaurants. Just the main street is too overloaded with souvenir-shops, mostly of them with the same stuff
