Create an itinerary including Tren De Soller
See what travel used to be like by enjoying a scenic ride on Tren De Soller, which has been running its daily train service from the city of Palma, uninterrupted, since 1912. The slow train journey takes visitors across the plains and through citrus groves, winding its way around mountains of the Serra de Tramuntana and through the 13 tunnels, finally ending at the large railway station of the northern town of Soller. This railway was built from the profits of the orange and lemon trade, which boomed at the beginning of the 20th century. For this reason, you may hear the locals call your journey the "Orange Express." Check the timetable and prices on the railway’s official site. With our custom trip planner, Palma de Mallorca attractions like Tren De Soller can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • Positive: Train ride is nice. Negative: They are selling the train to the last seat and the benches are very tight. There is no priority for families with children. So you better better run for your spot. Buggies can only be stored outside. 25 EUR for a return ticket is also a bit on the higher end. The town is nice, but nothing crazy special.
  • What a fab way to spend a day. This classic wooden train will take you through the city streets, out into the olive and lemon trees and through long dark tunnels opening up to fantastic mountain backdrops and sprawling views into the valleys. When you get to Soller you will swap to the tram which will transport you to the port with is beautiful sheltered bay, clean and and clear water full of fish. It feels like a classic Italian resort in the mountains? .. perfect day out.
