See what travel used to be like by enjoying a scenic ride on Tren De Soller, which has been running its daily train service from the city of Palma, uninterrupted, since 1912. The slow train journey takes visitors across the plains and through citrus groves, winding its way around mountains of the Serra de Tramuntana and through the 13 tunnels, finally ending at the large railway station of the northern town of Soller. This railway was built from the profits of the orange and lemon trade, which boomed at the beginning of the 20th century. For this reason, you may hear the locals call your journey the "Orange Express." Check the timetable and prices on the railway’s official site. With our custom trip planner, Palma de Mallorca attractions like Tren De Soller can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

Fab day out. The train ride gave us stunning views. Soller is a lovely place to wander round. Lots of small shops, bars etc. The station has a free Picasso pottery exhibition and also Joan Miro. No issues booking on line and the staff at both stations where friendly and welcoming.

Lovely little trip on the clickety clack train, beautiful scenery. But be warned there is a very long tunnel about two thirds of the way that lasts approximately 10 minutes (not for the faint hearted) Really enjoyable day away from the normal beach/pool thing.
