Create an itinerary including La Granja de Esporles
Perched in the foothills of the Tramontana mountains, La Granja de Esporles is a working 17th-century farm and estate. The site passed through the hands of the Romans, Moors, feudal Christians, and the Cisterian monks before its acquisition by its current owners, the Fortuny family. Today, it exists as a living museum of traditional Mallorcan culture and craftsmanship. Inside, you will find carefully preserved antique furnishings and craftsmen at work in trades such as blacksmithing, Spanish grasswork, and tanning. A stroll through the gardens reveals elm trees, fragrant rosemary, a 9.1 m (30 ft) natural spring, and local animals like the Mallorca goat and black pig. Don't forget to sample the traditional Mallorcan fig bread, bunnelos, and fig and apricot jams made on site. • An interesting museum that tells the countryside history of Mallorca through centuries. The place is absolutely beautifully located in the Tramontana mountains but still only 15 kilometres from...

  • Beautiful old villa, that worked a little like a tiny community in the past. Lots of old equipment, beautifully decorated rooms and a huge garden you can roam freely in. Don't touch the displayed items, now you can still look at them closely though which is very interesting. You can also get something to drink or eat after you're done at the restaurant at the entrance, also has lots of toilet facilities. If you come early in the morning it's nice and quiet, not a lot of other tourists.
  • Take a trip to rural Majorca. You will not regret the visit to La Granja. It has beautiful history created around the waterfall that gave power to this region. You see all the occupations the locals used to have at the museum as well as beautiful gardens around. The shop sells the perfume which is made of almond flowers. Read about it's history at the perfume making room.
