No ordinary water fountain, The Magic Fountain is an unusual combination of light shows and music performances repeated several times throughout the evening. Like most of the surrounding structures, the fountain was designed for the 1929 World Exposition. The massive building project employed over 3,000 workers. Severely damaged during the Spanish Civil War, the fountain did not operate again until 1955, when it was finally repaired and reopened. Today, the fountain is one of the more emblematic structures in this part of the city, mesmerizing long-time residents and visiting tourists with its 15-minute evening spectacles and frequent fireworks displays. Absolutely out of this world!Unlike anything I have ever seen. Brilliant choreography, starting with Barcelona by Freddy Mercury. Show is superb and will definitely go again. For those who haven't been, photographs will not display all. You have to experience it live. Well done Barcelona. As a visitor today, I was well impressed with your city and attractions. Awarded 5 stars but deserved 10!!!

Great place for a stroll and a workout climbing all the stairs. The rewards are worth it because the views you get are wonderful. Beautiful grounds and relaxing atmosphere takes you out of the bustling hive of activity that's is Barcelona. It relaxes you before you dive back into the city and all of it's beauty and chaos again. No cost except for possible aching feet depending on how much you walk. Plenty of great options to eat not far away after you work up some hunger.
