Walk across The Stone Bridge to admire the 15th-century Ottoman structure and take in sweeping views of the capital city, the river, and the mountains around you. Spanning the Vardar River and connecting Skopje's downtown with its Old Town, the bridge serves both as an important piece of infrastructure and one of the city's most enduring symbols. Originally constructed during the middle of the 15th century, the bridge has survived earthquakes, catastrophic floods, and an attempt by Nazi occupiers to destroy it. Make your way to the bridge and amble along its 214 m (702 ft) length, noting its sturdy construction of countless solid stone blocks, considered one of the area's finest examples of Ottoman architecture. PutThe Stone Bridge into our Skopje road trip planning site and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

This place is a tourists attraction, part of historic city and has many historic attractions like status, monumental, forts. Has casino, hotels and old bazar with in walking distance. River side has lot of restaurants with decent prices for food. All walking around place to visit. Many tourists visit here. Only thing I dislike is it's not clean. Government need to take care of such tourists spots.

This is an old pedestrian bridge build on 10 arches that span across the Vardar river connecting Square Macedonia and the Old Bazaar area. It is very popular with pedestrians and joined by three adjacent bridges which are not as heavily travelled. Another way to enjoy the bridge is to explore the city in the path along the river that goes under the bridge. The bridge has a fascinating history as it was built between 1451 and 1469 dating back to the Ottoman period and still has that old bridge appearance. Interesting fact is that the bridge is considered a symbol of Skopje and is the main element of the coat of arms of the city. It is quite symbolic in Skopje and I recommend finding time to explore this old piece of local history.
