Casa Kopke, Vila Nova de Gaia

Very nice place to try some authentic port wines. At first we wanted to get 6 port wines each but the personnel told us we should maybe just do 6 and share them. Therefore we immediately got the feeling they were not just there for the money but actually wanted to advise us well. And they did. After sharing 6 glasses of port we were already feeling tipsy. They tasted delicious and the personnel was extremely friendly. They only have about 6 tables inside so it’s a very relaxed atmosphere. All in all a nice place to try out some port wines and relax. The view was very nice but unfortunately the seats next to the window were already taken by others. Nonetheless a very nice place and I would definitely visit here again.

There’s no way I can’t give them five stars. Arrive is amazing and the wine is incredible, combined with a great attention to detail. However, don’t come after three other houses and make sure to order a proper menu to rate the amazing range they offer. Despite not having a tour you’ll learn more about port here in five minute than on a tour elsewhere.
