Walk down the boardwalk at Ribeira do Porto, a popular historic district packed with cultural offerings. This area is home to Ribeira Wharf and Riveira Square--one of the city's oldest squares, built in 1389. The narrow side streets are lined with colorful homes, lively bars, traditional restaurants, and small shops. Meander along the pier for views of the Duoro River and bridges. You can also take a river tour by boat. • This area is very pretty as it lines the bank of the Duoro River with nice shops and restaurants. Have lunch here and enjoy the ambience.

  • The Douro Valley River Cruise was an outstanding excursion! It was a seven-hour boat ride up the River viewing the many bridges and passing through locks, which included Europe's tallest river lock and concluded with a tour/tasting at a local port wine producer's facility, which was followed by the 90 minute air-conditioned bus ride back to Porto. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
  • It's very nice. There's music performers everywhere but If you're expecting even a half decent pub crawl for a Stag or Hen weekend it's not for you. In fact the whole city is the same. Hundreds of restaurants that might sell you a beer, beautiful scenery at the riverside and high up above the river superb views but virtually nothing that I would call bars. Romantic weekend with a loved one great, boozy weekend a no no.
