We visited in early spring, the water wasn’t cold but it wasn’t warm either. As Canadians we found the temperature swimmable, and we’re very glad we went in. It’s a beautiful spot to swim, the water is crystal clear, and the pools protect you from the waves crashing into the coast. A very local spot in this area. There’s a bar overlooking the pools, I definitely recommend adding this place to your must see of Ponta Delgada!

Incredible black sand beach, its impossible to forget that we are in a volcanic island after all. It was November and the water was so blue and transparent. With all the rock in the horizon, this place is something out of this world. Have to come in the summer and also enjoy the natural swimming pools near by!
