Create an itinerary including Ponte 25 de Abril
Longer than the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and quite similar to it in appearance, Ponte 25 de Abril connects Lisbon to Almada and services around 380,000 people daily. With a length of 2,277 m (7,470 ft), it's one of the longest suspension bridges in Europe. Because of heavy seismic activity in the region, it was built using the deepest foundation in the world, which reaches 80 m (262 ft) down into the riverbed. This massive red bridge can be a majestic addition to your holiday photo archive, or a picturesque backdrop for a picnic. You can cross it by car or by train. Put Ponte 25 de Abril and other Lisbon attractions into our Lisbon trip maker website, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • Stunning structure. As other reviewers have mentioned, looks like the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. Do a boat cruise which should take you under the bridge. The architecture is phenomenal...

  • Pretty stunning SF vibes bridge. Not really worth to cross on the rush hour as the traffic is really slow and gets packed; but sunsets are pretty from there as you see the whole bay of Lisboa and surroundings. Pretty interesting connection to the Golden Gate; google the fact about it!
  • A nice open place to visit. Sunny day would be the best. Nice sea, you can exercise/bike just walk across the sea.
