Create an itinerary including Ponta da Piedade
Tall, pointy rock formations appear out of the turquoise waters at Ponta da Piedade, and collections of arches and grottos connect the secluded beaches with one another. Visit the golden sand beaches nestled at the base to see these geological rarities--they're up to 20 m (60 ft) tall--or explore the tunnels and mazes of the area via a small fishing vessel. Seek out an organized boat tour, walk along the shore, or simply hike on your own along a nature trail that leads to the top of the rock formations via more than 180 stairs. More adventurous visitors can rent kayaks here. Put Ponta da Piedade on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Lagos driving holiday planning site.

  • I was very lucky to have amazing weather . From Lagos station I took the walk all the way to this place and I was not disappointed. It was so worth it . This is one of the most beautiful cliffs beach I have seen so far . The road down to the beach is steep but you have long set of wooden stairs leading to the ground level . However , to appreciate this treasure , the best is from above . There is public toilet there an little restaurant . Also from here , you can explore walking on right side of the cliff or left side . Either way you will decided to go , you will see great landscapes .
  • A beautiful scenic spot and the rocks are amazing. You have to take stairs down to the beach. One of small beaches have a lot seed weeds or algae (I’m not sure). But caves are very beautiful. It’s close to a large beach. Huge.
