One of the oldest buildings in the city, the Gothic Cathedral of Evora (Se Catedral de Evora) forms part of a complex of historical buildings that are on the World Heritage List. This building, the largest medieval cathedral in the country, features two eye-catching towers, each with a different conical spire. The building's cloisters, completed in the 14th century, include marble statues of the four evangelists and a polychrome statue of the Virgin Mary. Take the cloisters' spiral staircase to reach the upper story, which offers unobstructed views of the cathedral complex and the surrounding landscape. After you see the view from the top, descend to the cathedral museum, noted for displaying a 17th century reliquary encrusted with 840 diamonds and 402 rubies. • The cloister is rough and devoid of charm. The cathedral interior is small and dark. Only the visit of the roof and the views were interesting.

  • Pay to see all of the sights and exhibits. In the afternoon, it’s a peaceful, lovely place to explore. Beggars will harass you at the entrance, but it is safe once you get inside.
  • A nice cathedral that you can walk on the roof of for a great view.
