for history of the Azores and its importance. Lots to see and some info in English. Fun bit was to discover that the city coat of arms should be that of a buzzard and not goshawk! That was funny!

Absolutely fantastic museum in a remarkable building, the old St. Sebastian Convent. The church is historic and quite possibly one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. The detail in the artwork is breathtaking. The museum does feature English translations. The exhibits take the visitor from the early days of the island to present day. For only 2€, this is a must do!!!

A great museum if you're looking for a deep and complete review of the Terceira Island history. The entry fee is only €2, while you can easily spend more than 1 hour here. It details how the place started as a religious site and evolved over time until becoming the museum it is today. Definitely a place to visit during your stay.
