Create an itinerary including Matinloc Island
Bask in crystal clear waters and swim to secret white sand beaches at Matinloc Island. Renowned as an area of extraordinary natural splendour, you’ll feel like you’ve found your very own piece of paradise here. Climb to the highest point on the island for incredible views of the surrounding archipelago. If you’re feeling adventurous, make your way to the island's "secret beach." Inaccessible by boat, visitors must swim underwater through a gap in the rock wall to reach the small beach, which is supposedly the very same spot that inspired Alex Garland's famous novel, "The Beach." • The views are great from here, this is such a cool island
  • Magnificent views Part of Tour “C” is a visit to Matinloc Island, about 20 boat ride from El Nido. Arriving at Matinloc, our boat docked on a little platform, with a narrow runway over the water, where we were greeted by a sculpture of Jesus Christ in a small cave and a concrete gazebo, a reminder that this is also a religious, or at least spiritual, place. Having paid the 100Pesos per persons Entrance fee, we followed our boatman, who invited us to climb a limestone cliff standing mightily on the beach. The top of the cliff offered a magnificent view of some parts of Matinloc Island and other nearby islands and beaches. We were the only people in the area and we felt like we owned the place. A word of caution, by the way, the cliffs are quite steep and the rocks are pretty pointed that one wrong move can bring you in trouble. Watch your steps.
