Walk among the houses that have been set up as a village, and view displays depicting culture and lifestyle from 1500 to the present day. Be sure to see the Viking-style Gol Stave Church that dates back to 1200, one of the five medieval buildings in the museum. Inside, check out the permanent exhibitions on folk art, folk costumes, Sami culture, toys, and contemporary history. Must see if visiting Oslo/Norway. Museum is really informative and big. The exhibits inside are nice and interesting but the outside is what really makes it special. Buildings and being able to go inside them is great. Nice bits of information about them and the year they were created. Lot of walking and can take about 2-3 hours but well worth it.
