Create an itinerary including St. Tryphon Cathedral
The largest building in the city, St. Tryphon Cathedral showcases a classical Romanesque architectural style and holds a collection of priceless artifacts and art pieces. Built in the 12th century, this palace rests on Corinthian columns and pink stone pillars. Its bell towers were rebuilt in the Baroque style after an earthquake, and its rose windows illustrate Gothic-Renaissance motifs. Seek out the lavish interior frescoes from the 14th century, the bas-relief altar screen, and the Romanesque Gothic ciborium--the highlight of the interior decoration. Visit the reliquary chapel to see a 1288 wooden crucifix, and look for St. Tryphon's remains at the site. • Amazing and lovely town, especially at the break of dawn when there are no tourist (except me)
  • Well worth the €3, the museum above is small but nice, it could help to have the descriptions of the displays but still nice. The view from the terrace is also a plus and although the actual cathedral has been extensively renovated it still holds an enchanting space.
