Located within a larger park commemorating the bombing of Hiroshima, Atomic Bomb Dome haunts with the memory of the lives lost during the attack. Now designated as a World Heritage Site, the former exhibition hall was the only building that remained standing near the bomb's hypocenter; today, it memorializes the 70,000 who perished immediately in the bombing, as well as the additional 70,000 who passed away from the bomb's aftereffects. Though you cannot enter the ruin, you can approach and circle the surrounding gate to see light flooding through the skeleton of the building. • Seeing the dome was humbling yet saddening. The war had devastated this structure, but it still stands today as a reminder of the past.

  • Lot of history and it so happened I was visiting on the day of the memorial. Very somber feeling. Due to COVID crowds were small but was overwhelmed with emotions

  • A recommended place to visit. Amazing to see that this structure still remained after the bomb was dropped. Surrounding the dome there are many beautiful parks. I would also recommend renting a bicycle and cycling around the area. Recommended!
  • It's a nice spot to relax for a bit. Although, every time I pass by the dome I get goosebumps. I know about the history and it is very fascinating, and eerie the same time. Please come here in case you visit Hiroshima to think of all the people that lost their lives during war. It's a reminder of not repeating history, and to be kind and friendly to each other ...no matter where you come from. :)
