Basilica di Santa Rita is a minor basilica housing the relics of St. Rita, as well as numerous frescoes and bas-reliefs depicting her life and work. Ascend the hill of St. Augustine and climb a short flight of steps to reach the white travertine facade--inside, you'll find ornate works of art, a majestic organ, and the sarcophagus of St. Rita, which lies behind a narrow door leading into the old Church of the Blessed Rita. The marble-based sarcophagus was carved by Eros Pillini, and features four angels representing the cardinal virtues.
