National Museum of Ireland - Country Life
Get a taste of rural Irish life over a 100-year period at National Museum of Ireland - Country Life. Housed inside Turlough Park House, the attraction showcases the harsh realities of life in the country, from farming to house building, in their permanent exhibit "Romanticism and Reality." Other exhibits highlight important rural celebrations, emigration, traditions, and artwork. A modern complex just a short walk across the park from the original Turlough Park House also features exhibits that celebrate rural Irish life. Visit the attraction's website to find out which upcoming events at the museum, or on the grounds, are open to the public. All galleries are wheelchair accessible. Closed on Mondays (including Bank Holidays, Good Friday, and Christmas Day). Lovely museum! So much to learn and see and discover! Entrance was free, an added bonus. Staff was very helpful. I'm not big into museums, but this one is a gem because it has a lot of real life...

Better than I was expecting; interesting displays of Irish life over the last 150 years, right up to the 1980s! Free to enter; free carpark; small shop and cafe. Grounds nice too. There is building work going on at the moment though (an extension?), so a bit messy outside.

Great place, great parking, very factual, very good on the eye and easy to get around if you're in a wheelchair. It's a bit like being in my granny's house so I must be getting old. Certainly a good idea I thoroughly enjoyed it.
