Create an itinerary including Pandav Leni
Observe the ancient Buddhist monasteries carved into the rocks at Pandav Leni. Built gradually from the 1st century BCE through the 3rd century CE, the complex spreads across 24 caves, some connected by carved stone ladders. Highlights include the main prayer hall cave with its attractive stupa, and the well-preserved cave number ten. Full of inscriptions and sculptures, the complex also boasts an ancient system of water management--look for chiseled water tanks around the site. If you can, take the short, steep hike to the caves early in the morning to beat the sun, or later in the day. Bring along plenty of water, and sturdy shoes. • The complete journey was very smooth, there were 230 steps and but was not difficult to climb that as it has plane steps. Bhutta is a must try and a good companion while climbing the steps. Enjoyed...

  • You have to climb approximately 250-200 stairs to reach this cave. It's a historical place but local visit here for weekend getaway. I even saw school kids and old ladies easily going upwards. The cave is well maintained although the water holes stinks badly. You can scan the code kept in front of the caves to know more about their history. Few shops available outside but you won't find any shops on the mountain so buy water bottles before you climb up.
  • 250 steps it takes 35-45 min to reach at top. Really nice view of Nasik city from top. If you start in morning around 10-11 am you don't feel difficult in climbing. Best time to visit at Around 11 am or 4.30pm. Very historical and peaceful. Must visit for Buddha's followers total around Around 25 caves with nice Statues. 25 rs ticket is worth.
