Olvisholt Brewery, Selfoss

What can I say??? We passed Olvisholt Brugghus on a bit of a whim, and unsure what to expect or if it would even be open for that matter. Well what a surprise it was!!! This place is an absolute hidden gem and well worth a detour from the usual golden circle sights. Berglind is so warm and welcoming with great local knowledge and tips on local spots to go and try and, of course, great beer knowledge! By the time we left, it felt like we were family as we had all become fast friends. Her husband was out back bottling the latest drop and, along with the several great beers we had sampled and decided to take with us, he even snuck us a few bottles of the fresh stuff to take home and try! And the beer? THE BEER IS GREAT!!! Just don’t park in the wrong spot and get fed to the trolls!

Family-like atmosphere small 10 years old brewery, one of their beer is specially brewed only for the Glacier area, which uses Thyme, Vatnajokull, amazing taste, must try when you are in the glacier! a staff lady is very kind and knowledgable about brewing and beer. I love their beer labelling design.
