Experience centuries of Viking history at Saga Museum. The museum uses information from past Viking narratives to make sure its 17 exhibits recreate the timeline of Viking history in the most authentic way possible. Start with the Papar exhibit to learn about the first inhabitants of Iceland. Make your way to the Þorgeir Ljósvetningagoði exhibit to learn about Iceland's conversion to Christianity. End with the Jón Arason exhibit, which teaches all you need to know about the Reformation. You'll receive an audio guide upon entering, which will explain the pieces throughout the museum. Very well done museum. The modeling of people, clothing, etc. is very life like. I would strongly suggest doing the audio tour (headphones) and viewing the movie about how the museum exhibits were...

We had a very pleasant visit (about 1 hour). The museum had a good auduoguide and very well made and realistic wax figures. We learned a lot of interesting information about Iceland's early history...

Excellent place, the figures and displays were beautifully crafted. The Audio guided tour was very informative. You could purchase a beer and drink it while taking the tour which was a bonus and best of all at the end you could dress like a viking!

Great way to learn the history of Iceland. You get an audio guided tour of approx 35mins and walk around various exhibitions which explains the history of the earliest settlers. Very informative but a bit short for the price. They do have student discounts so carry your student card. They have a very cool photo area where you can wear different Viking props and take photos. There is a cafe on site as well. The young lady who was at the reception/payment area was very friendly and knowledgeable.
