Create an itinerary including Sandy Island
Explore the marine and avian life at Sandy Island, a calm, secluded enclave of white sand fringed by coconut trees. After Hurricane Ivan demolished the island in 2004, Grenada designated it a nature reserve. Bring snorkeling gear to explore the underwater world, or binoculars to do some bird-watching on land. The island, accessible by water taxi, makes a perfect escape from the usual crowded spots, its long stretch of beach giving a sense of peaceful seclusion. There are no facilities on site, so you should plan to bring your own food and drink. • Great little island just off Paradise beach - simple boat taxi ride. The best snorkelling is to the north end of the island on the Carricou side. Lots of coral, drops off - just make sure to stay out....  more

  • This is a beautiful island in the marine park. Pretty snorkeling! And the beach is gorgeous. There were 10 mooring balls there owned by the marine park folk. There is at least 1 broken one, hopefully they fix it as there seem to often be more boats wanting ro come than mooring balls.
  • One of the best southern Caribbean snorkeling spots. Be sure to visit here if you are in the area.
