War and boat buffs will want to see U-Boot Wilhelm Bauer, an exhibit where you can board and explore a World War II submarine. This craft is the only surviving submarine of the German navy of the time period. Most areas of the sub are open to exploration, and you can experience just how little space the men had here. Descriptions are offered in English. Keep in mind that navigating the small spaces may be difficult for visitors with mobility issues. A unique museum! If you go to Bremerhaven, this is a must-see place. 🥰 Before visiting it, we thought it is a normal museum in shape of a submarine with some photos hanging inside it; but it is actually a submarine with all of its real details, furniture and equipment. There is just one level open for visiting, however, there are some cameras for other levels (basement level) and you can control them to see the other sections. As it is a real submarine, the ceiling is not that high, so watch you head during your visit 😇. It is open everyday from 15 March till 10th of November (even on Sundays and holidays). Although the ticket is very cheap, but you can also get a discount on tickets using your student card 😉

A well presented museum. The entrance fee was good value . Well worth a visit. There are explanations in German and English which is a bonus. It's amazing how they managed in such a confined area.
