St. Peter's Cathedral (St. Petri Dom), a Gothic cathedral, is one of the most iconic buildings of Bremen. Built in the 11th century, it has undergone a number of renovations and restorations over the centuries. Admire the grand architecture and look for hand-carved choir stalls from the 13th century. Descend into the crypt to see the lower portions of the walls and columns from the original building. The faint-hearted should skip the lead basement beneath the nave, which is home to eight mummies in glass-topped coffins. • Beautiful cathedral right at the Market Square. Beautiful architecture. Unfortunately it's not open to public during our time of visit.

  • It's a serene place that, for me, never loses its ability to calm. If you are not religious and don't want to go to sermon, there are times where you can listen to the organist(s) practice. Worth a visit, especially when they open the crypt.
  • It’s a very big and beautiful church. They don’t ask for anything in the entrance (like covid tests) It’s such a majestic building from the outside, and if you go to Bremen not only it’s a must see but you will most likely find it, since it’s close to the city center and the town hall and other buildings are also there.
