Sokhumi Botanical Garden is located in the city of Sokhumi, Abkhazia. Currently, the territory of Abkhazia is occupied by Russia. The Botanical Garden was established in 1840 and is one of the oldest in the Caucasus. Today the Botanical Garden has five sections: Flora, Introduction, Flowering, Dendrology and Plant Protection. More than 4,500 species of plants from different countries of the world are gathered here. Sokhumi Botanical Garden attracts a lot of people with its various unique plants, pools, walking paths and recreation areas, it is one of the most popular sights of the city.
